Transcranial magnetic stimulation as a promising method of treatment in depression and various neuropsychiatric conditions. A literature review

Background: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a method of non-invasive and painless brain with an electromagnetic field, which induces changes in the electric field leading to cortical activity modulation neurons. Currently, transcranial increasingly used diagnosis treatment various neuropsychiatric conditions, such as depression, schizophrenia, neurodegenerative diseases, more. TMS can be enhancing effect pharmacotherapy well regular treatment.
 Aim study: The study's aim summarize current state knowledge on depression conditions.
 Material methods: study based literature available scientific databases PubMed, using following keywords: „transcranial stimulation”, „tms”, “depression” “treatment-resistant depression”.
 Results conclusions: non-invasive, generally safe many obsessive-compulsive disorders, tinnitus, addiction psychoactive substances well-documented, approved, recommended primarily for treatment-resistant due its effectiveness, mild side profile good tolerability. Recently there are more reports effectiveness other but further research setting guidelines needed, so increasing availability patients.
